Supercars Hall of Famer John Bowe and Nissan co-driver David Wall will return to the Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour this year with the sole aim of an overall victory.
Wall and Bowe did not have the outright speed of current cars like the Mercedes and BMW, but had strong reliability. They finished on the podium overall but won his class (A1 – All Wheel Drive).
They say that they exceeded their expectations last year and more importantly had a lot of fun in the process across the weekend.
This time, Wall’s team Wall Racing have rebuilt the engine from the ground up after the engine completed four 12 hours races, a 6 Hour race plus a number of practice days. They believed the engine was way overdue.
Wall Racing has spent more time preparing their Mitishbshi Evo 9 for their 2017 attack at Mount Panorama after making a few changes to the car.
“We are going there to do well, after finishing 3rd last year we are looking at going a few more steps up the podium,” Wall said.
“With a number of new cars in the race this year including the BMW and RS Focus as well all the Evo’s, competitors from last year and the other 65 entries the competition is going to tough, but we are looking forward to the challenge in the Evo 9 GSR”.
“Hopefully we can get Alan a great result that is well deserved for all the effort that he has put into the car over the years and to East Caravan Park for getting behind use again for the 6 Hour event”.
The Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour starts this weekend, the long Easter weekend.
