Kumho V8 Touring Cars series front runner Jordan Boys has been given the nod to make his Dunlop Super2 Series debut at Sandown next weekend with Dragon Motor Racing.

Boys who has been racing an ex-SBR FG Falcon for Dragon Motor Racing’s team partner Image Racing in the Kumho Series, and sits second in the championship standings.

He will replace Renee Gracie in the second Dragon/Image VF Commodore entry, but there is no word on Gracie or Caltex Australia’s position following this news.

Speaking to Supercars.com, that team boss of Image Racing Terry Wyhoon said that Jordan Boys is familar with Sandown and it will be an easier track to get used to the Super2 regs.

“Sandown’s a place he’s run the Formula Ford before,” Wyhoon told Supercars.com.

“He’s a little bit familiar with the track and we want to get him used to Supercar-land, so to speak, so it’s a good opportunity.”

“This is his first season in V8 Touring Cars. He’s done very well in that, he’s running second to Jack Smith in that series, he’s going along really well

“We’ve got Phillip Island this weekend, he’s going to be doing some miles there, and straight off the back of that he can go to Sandown and just see how he fares there in the car Renee was driving.”
