Key outright race winning cars have seen their hopes of collecting the outright win trophy flew by the wind, as Jamie Whincup’s Mercedes-AMG GT3 is leading the race.

A lot of the class A cars have dropped from the lead lap, with only 12 cars remaining on the lead lap as the Habul/Vautier/Whincup/Marciello Mercedes AMG GT3 is currently leading the race on lap 206.

The McLaughlin McLaren have lost two laps early in the race and haven’t been able to get any of those laps back. The YNA Autosport’s other McLaren which has Van Gisbergen and Lowndes listed as two of the three drivers have lost their hopes when the #58 engine overheated.

While the European Kelvin Van der Linde saw Tander’s hopes of a 12 Hour victory disappear when he made a dangerous move at The Dipper and broke the suspension of the Audi.

But when those key outright contenders are out of it, there are still some really good cars still in contention for the win. Jamie Whincup (#75 Mercedes), Cam Waters (#55 Mercedes), Chaz Mostert (#43 BMW), Steve Richards (#100 BMW), Tim Slade (#11 McLaren), Chris Mies (#74 Audi), Matt Campbell (#12 Porshe) among others.

Class leaders: APP #75 Marciello, APA #55 Fumaneli, AAM #69 Padayachee, B #4 Grove, C #30 Seton, and I #93 Everingham.
